Bowen Technique

Bowen Technique is a safe, non-intrusive yet effective hands-on therapy suitable for people of all ages.
The practitioner uses thumbs and fingers on precise points of the body to make gentle rolling type movements on specific muscles, tendons and nerves. These movements stimulate the body to rebalance, relieve tension and reduce pain.

  • There is no manipulation or adjustment of hard tissue (bones) and no force is needed
  • It is not a form of massage
  • The holistic treatment affects the body in ways that promote healing and recovery of energy
  • The treatment experience is gentle, subtle and relaxing

The following conditions frequently respond well to Bowen Technique:

  • Back pain both lumbar and thoracic (acute or chronic)
  • Neck restrictions including whiplash injuries and RSI
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Hayfever
  • Bedwetting
  • Respiratory problems including asthma
  • Shoulder, arm and elbow problems
  • Leg problems including hamstrings, knees and ankles
  • Accident injuries (acute or chronic)
  • Sports injuries (acute or chronic)
  • Digestive and bowel disorders
  • Acute and chronic fatigue
  • Stress and tension based conditions, and for general relaxation

Treatments can be performed through light clothing such as tee shirts and leggings.

The Bowen Technique was developed in Australia forty years ago by Thomas A. Bowen (1903- 1982). His technique is now taught and practised in over 30 different countries.

NB: Please note that the Bowen Technique is not intended as a substitute for medical advice or treatment.
